Electric Powered pallet jacks, aka electric pallet trucks, walkies, single or double pallet jacks, are mechanized to allow raising and lifting of bulkier and piled pallets. These usually has a board for the person using it to stand while moving pallets into a building or loading/unloading vehicles.

The mechanized pallet jack is usually moved by a gear on the handle to move straight or in reverse and driven by swinging the throttle in the desired position.

Most contain a piece of dead man's trigger rather than a brake switch to stop the pallet truck should the user need to halt abruptly or leave the pallet truck while it is in use.

Others use a device known as "plugging" where in the user of the pallet truck switches the stick from forward to reverse (or vice-versa) to decrease and halt the machine, as the dead man`s button is used during an emergency.
